This 800 year old castle went through a 75 million refurbishment. The medieval Ashford Castle in County Mayo has survived over seven centuries. Donated to the Irish government by the Guinness family in 1915, it was bought and turned into a hotel by Noel Huggard in 1939.The adjacent Lodge at Ashford Castlewas recently voted the ninth-best hotel in the world in the Condé Nast Traveller Reader’s Choice Awards 2016. With the window restoration IMC Slim-glaze double glazing was used to ensure that the original style was maintained, old single glazing was removed and replaced with our 12mm thick energy efficient glazing, filled with Krypton gas and using our warm edge spacers which helps maintain the room temperature when the heating is switched off at night and thereby reduces condensation and heat loss
